This season has been one for the books at River City FC! Two of our talented teams, the U14 Boys Blue and U13 Girls Blue, have achieved championship glory in their respective divisions.
Coached by Jeremy Dubois, the U14 Boys Blue dominated Division 4 league, securing the championship title with an undefeated record of 5 wins and 4 draws. Their season was a testament to their unwavering spirit and relentless pursuit of victory.
The team started strong, holding Glen-Ed SC United to a scoreless draw before showcasing their offensive prowess with back-to-back wins against Knights and LFA Red Star Tango. Their resilience shone through in battling to draws against LFA Red Star Questra and Komo FC Hartbreakers.
The boys truly flexed their offensive muscle with a commanding 4-0 victory over St. Louis Stars SC. Their most dominant performance came against MASC, where they overwhelmed their opponents with a resounding 13-2 win. A resolute defense was on display throughout the season, exemplified by their shutout victory against MO Rush 2010B Azul.
Saving the best for last, the champions defeated MO Rush Black 6-1 in their final match. This win served as a powerful symbol of the team's remarkable growth and development throughout the year.
Led by Daniel Olstad, the U13 Girls Blue displayed exceptional teamwork and a never-give-up attitude throughout the Spring SYLSA Division, ultimately claiming the championship title.
Their journey began with a convincing 2-0 victory over MO Rush - Troy Rage, setting the tone for their competitive spirit. They continued their winning streak with a 3-0 shutout against Metro Alliance Irish FC , showcasing their strong offensive and defensive capabilities. A hard-fought 1-1 draw against REAL WC St. Louis Blue Devils proved their ability to adapt and battle against any opponent.
Although they faced a setback with a 1-2 loss to Hawks FC Jamaica, the girls girls bounced back emphatically. They secured a dominant 3-1 win over STLDA and another shutout victory against 026 FC.
Their unwavering determination continued with a narrow 1-0 win over WGSC 2011G Chelsea and another 1-0 victory against AFA FILLIES SECRET OATH. The team capped off their championship season with a decisive 2-0 win over LFA Red Star Samba 2011G, solidifying their position at the top of the league.
The girls finished the season with an impressive record of 6 wins, 2 draws, and only 1 loss. Their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional talent throughout the season led them to become the SYLSA Division champions.
Both teams were able to celebrate their titles at the SLYSA Awards Ceremony at City Park prior to STL City 2 defeating Sporting KC 2 on June 23rd.
